Here are straightforward answers to the questions readers most often ask about how this journal works.
What is Scarlet Flores Journal?
An independent journal for women in midlife in San Antonio. We write general information about menopause, sleep, food and movement, help readers think critically about wellness-product claims, and share gardens, culture and live nights out around the city. See our About page for more.
Do you sell anything?
No. We do not sell supplements, drinks or any other product, we do not run a shop, and we do not endorse products or ingredients. We are not affiliated with any company. If you see a site using a similar name to sell something, it is not us.
Can you answer my medical question?
We cannot. We are not a clinic and do not give medical advice, diagnosis or treatment suggestions, including about hormone therapy or dosing. Our articles are general background. For anything about your own health, please talk to your doctor, nurse or pharmacist. If you have an urgent health concern, contact your doctor or emergency services.
Who writes the articles?
The journal is written and edited independently. We do not present our writers as medical experts, and we do not invent credentials, quotes or testimonials. Where a page states a health fact, it comes from a public source.
Where do your facts come from?
- Health information: public sources such as the National Institutes of Health, womenshealth.gov and the FDA.
- Venue and city information: published histories and city sources. For example, our page on the Majestic Theatre notes that it opened in 1929 and became a National Historic Landmark in 1993.
We avoid repeating study results we cannot check, and we never make up numbers.
Are opening times and ticket details on your pages?
We describe places and offer general visiting tips, but schedules change. Always check the venue's own website for current times, tickets and accessibility information before you go.
How do I report a mistake?
Email info@scarletflores.com with the page address and what you think is wrong, ideally with a public source. We review every correction request and update pages when we find an error. More on our Contact page.
Do I need an account?
No. Everything is free to read, with no sign-up, membership or newsletter required. Our Privacy page explains the little information a site like this handles.
Can I suggest a topic or a place?
Yes. Ideas for articles, garden walks or venues are welcome by email. We cannot promise to cover every suggestion, and we do not accept payment for coverage.
